Severe Wind Warning for Weekend

Weather Situation

A high pressure system will move over Victoria today then track northeastwards over the northern Tasman Sea on Friday.

The next cold front will approach southern Victoria on Friday and enter the west on Friday night.

Damaging northerly winds around 60 km/h with peak gusts of 90 km/h are forecast from about 9am Friday morning.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
Keep clear of fallen power lines.
